Por — means of communication and transportPor expresses the means by which something is communicated or sent: Lo dijo por teléfono. Te lo mando por email. Lo vio por la televisión. Viajé por tren. The idea is the channel or medium through which something travels.

Para — opinion and perspectivePara introduces a personal opinion or reference point: Para mí, es demasiado picante. Para los españoles, comer tarde es normal. ¿Qué hora es para ti? This use of para is like saying "from my point of view" or "as far as I'm concerned".
