🔤 Vocabulary spotlight
📌
Outerwear and accessoriesel abrigo (coat), la bufanda (scarf), los guantes (gloves), el chaleco (vest/waistcoat), el cinturón (belt). Seasonal vocabulary: you'll reach for el abrigo and la bufanda in winter; el chaleco works year-round as a layering piece.
🔧
Formal vs. casual registerel traje (suit) signals formality; la sudadera (sweatshirt/hoodie) and los tenis (sneakers — Latin America; las zapatillas in Spain) are casual. ¿Tienes que llevar traje? (Do you have to wear a suit?) vs. Voy en sudadera (I'm going in a hoodie).
💬
Everyday expressionsSe me olvidaron los guantes (I forgot my gloves). ¡Hace frío, ponte el abrigo! (It's cold, put on your coat!). Los tenis nuevos me aprietan (My new sneakers are tight). Llevas bien puesta la bufanda (Your scarf is on nicely).
